It’s so tempting to just want our problems resolved, our pain eliminated, our shortcomings perfected. That’s natural. What’s also natural is how we currently exist. We reach for our desired future state from who and where we are. What if we extend toward that new possibility out of longing, rather than the belief there’s something wrong with us now? This perspective becomes especially potent in cases of illness or chronic stress — if we’ve become identified with an idea of brokenness, it’s difficult to believe anything new for ourselves.

Returning to the body in its wholeness, we will invite a physiological exploration of reaching from a centered core, and the sensations of yearning and becoming this can invoke. We’ll also engage in group discussion around what it is to “need fixing” versus allowing ourselves to evolve. Dress in layers and bring water and an extra blanket if you have one. We’ll be focused on practice rather than teaching, but you’re welcome to bring a notebook if you’d like to reflect on your experience afterwards.

No previous experience is necessary and movements can be adapted for all bodies.
