As the light returns and we begin to feel the first stirrings of spring, what do you feel moving inside you? Do you feel choppy and disjointed or coherent and connected? What is the quality of your breath? Would you like to experience greater ease from the inside out? Join us for a restorative day of movement with a seasonal lunch provided by personal chef Tanya Einhorn.
So much of our attention is focused outward. Gathering ourselves back home to live somatically in our bones and joints and tissues, we will explore how human bodies are naturally built to move and the relief that comes from spending a few hours letting go of all those external expectations. In a Movement Fundamentals class we take a comprehensive journey through standing, walking, sitting, and lying down, exploring how our body’s posture and movement patterns inform our sensory-nervous system and affect our health. Learn simple practices that allow you to ground inside your physical structure and open to greater presence and vitality. We will also begin working with the basic flows of qi, or life energy, as it moves and collects within the body. Based in Qi Gong and primal movement, your body is welcome exactly as it is — the invitation is simply to become more of yourself. This is our signature course as a partial-day retreat.
No previous experience is necessary and movements can be adapted for all bodies.
